COVID-19 Antigen (active infection) testing by a nasal swab

Manalapan Medical Center is pleased to announce that we now offer COVID-19 antigen testing (for those who require a negative test before returning to work or school or for travel purposes, or for those who have suggestive symptoms, to confirm or exclude the active covid-19 infection).
Results are available in 15 minutes for the rapid antigen test and within 1-2 days for PCR antigen test!
The antigen test results will determine whether you are infected with COVID-19.
If your results are positive, you should contact your healthcare provider immediately and self-quarantine while monitoring your symptoms.
If your results are negative, you were unlikely to be infected with COVID-19 at the time of the test. However, in some cases there is an insufficient amount of viral material in the sample to detect the virus. This can happen during the early stages of infection. If you have suggestive symptoms, you should contact your healthcare provider for further evaluation, and to self-isolate to prevent infecting others.
We Offer: • Online pre-registration and payment through our secure patient portal • Testing is available the same or next day • Nasal swab performed through your open car window by our fully protected medical staff (avoiding contact with other patients) • Results (printout) will be available in 15 minutes for a rapid antigen test and within 1-3 days if confirmation by a PCR test is requested.

Covid-19 Antigen rapid tests are performed via a nasal swab and provided by Quidel, are FDA Authorized (under the EUA) and have a 96.7% accuracy rate for people with symptoms suggestive of possible Covid-19 infections (fever, cough, shortness of breath, and/or loss of taste or smell). The accuracy is unknown for people without these symptoms. If you would like to have a confirmation of your negative rapid test, we can perform an additional nasal swab for a PCR test for no additional out of pocket cost.
The rapid antigen test is offered to people who require a negative test before returning to work or school, or for travel purposes* (please check with whichever authority or agency is requiring you to be tested to ensure that our test meets their requirements before scheduling your test. Manalapan Medical Center makes no representation that our tests will meet the requirements of any outside authority or agency). We also offer this test to people who have current symptoms or signs of an active Covid -19 infection or who were in contact with a known Covid-19 infected person in the past 2 weeks.
Medicare patients are fully covered with no copay required. For all other patients we offer an all-inclusive low price of $75 (30% off for other family members). Only credit, debit or HSA cards are accepted. If a confirmation PCR nasal swab test is requested by a patient, it will be sent to QDx Pathology laboratory for no additional out of pocket cost (free for patients without insurance and no copay for patients with insurance).
What Happens Then? • Our staff will call you to schedule your test the same or next business day. • You can make a payment on our secure portal or via phone prior to coming for your test. For the safety of our staff, cash or money orders are not accepted. • When you arrive, park at any available space in the parking lot, and call 732-298-3967 or send a text message with your name (do not leave a voice message). When our staff is ready for you, you will receive a call or text message to drive around our building and stop by the back door with the sign “Covid-19 testing here”. Our fully protected medical staff will come out and perform the test through your open car window. • Your test results will be available within 15 minutes, and you will be provided with a printout of your results along with a written explanation of what your results mean.

COVID-19 Antibody (past infection) testing by a blood test
We Offer: • Blood draws performed in a clean and safe environment (avoiding contact with other patients) • A safer alternative to the hospital or urgent care center • Online pre-registration through our secure patient portal • Testing is available the same or next day • Quick turnaround as tests are performed in our onsite state-of-the-art lab with results available within 1-2 business days
Guidelines: • Tests are provided by Abbott Labs (the same used by Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp), are FDA Authorized (under the EUA) and have a 99.7% accuracy rate • Not available for patients who are currently exhibiting symptoms indicative of an active COVID-19 infection (those patients should do a rapid antigen test) • Medicare patients are fully covered with no copay required • All other patients can receive a blood test for an all-inclusive low price of only $75 (30% off for other family members). Only credit, debit or HSA cards are accepted. • Tests are processed in house (not sent to external lab) so there is a guarantee of no additional charges (does not apply to patients who request their labs be sent to an outside lab, who may incur additional charges) • For patients who prefer to have their test processed by Quest or LabCorp, a $35 fee for the blood draw only will apply • Existing patients can simply call our dedicated Covid-19 test scheduling line 732-908-7737 or email covid19testing@manalapanmedical.com to schedule a test or request an appointment via our portal. This test may be useful if you: • Have had a positive COVID-19 test and it has been at least 7 days and you are interested in knowing if you have detectable levels of IgG antibodies • Have not experienced a fever/felt feverish in the previous 3 days • Have not experienced new/worsening symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 10 days, such as: loss of smell or taste; shortness of breath/difficulty breathing; feeling weak/ lethargic; lightheadedness/ dizziness; vomiting/diarrhea; slurred speech; and/or seizures • Are not sure if you have been exposed to COVID-19 or not and simply want to know if you have been exposed and have built a possible immunity This test may NOT be useful if: • You’re feeling sick or have had a fever within the last 3 full days *(please contact a healthcare provider) • It’s been less than 7 days since you’ve been tested for and were diagnosed with COVID-19 • You were directly exposed to COVID-19 in the past 14 days
